Where I've Been and Where I’m Going

Where I Am and Where I’m Going

You may have noticed that I’ve been a little MIA on the blog. There’s a reason for that!

2017 is off to a great start! For the last couple of years, I’ve been doing Dry January, which means no drinking the entire month! For me, it’s a wonderful way to reset and start off the year. I feel good and I’m able to focus on healthy eating and setting positive goals for myself.

And speaking of goals, I have a few I want to share …

As much as I already travel (mostly for work … some for pleasure), I really want to venture out of my comfort zone and travel to places I haven’t been before. I’ve already planned my Adult Spring Break in Cabo but I’m really hoping for Ireland and London. If everything falls into place, I’ll be spending some time there, with my mom and my bestie, researching our ancestry!

Lifestyle Choices

For 2017, I really want to spend more time focusing on my health. I start off with good intentions and then life gets in the way! So this year I’ll be working with the nutritionists, dermatologists and fitness experts at the Cooper Clinic to make some changes in my lifestyle and help me stay on track.

I am a big believer that you will have a core group of friends in your life that are “ride or die” and then some friends who are only in your life for seasons. The moment I accepted that fact, the easier it was to let those people come in and out of my life without it hurting so much. I’m pretty good about spending time with my besties but I want to make sure I’m really growing my friendships instead of just maintaining them.

This year, I hope to develop my philanthropic contributions and I’m starting with DIFFA Dallas. I was named a DIFFA Style Council Ambassador for 2017  and I’m so honored to finally work with the most amazing philanthropists in Dallas to advocate for change.

Kidd’s Kids

With the fourth anniversary of my father’s death approaching in July, I am very happy with the strides we’ve made with Kidd’s Kids. I knew I wanted to expand the outreach of Kidd’s Kids, but didn’t necessarily know how. I didn’t have a definite idea of what I was going to do or how I was going to do it. Thankfully, with some soul searching and a lot of help from my team (incredible talent!), I am finally clear on what that looks like. We will have some wonderful announcements coming up that I’ll share with you guys really soon!

I’m really excited about the direction my life is taking and you’ll start seeing a bigger reflection of that in my blog! I’m so thankful that y’all are with me on this journey and hope you’ll continue with me!
