Top 5 Whole30 Snacks

I’m on Day 24 (or 25?) of Whole30 and I’m still alive!

Actually, the closer I’ve gotten to the 30th day, the easier it’s been. I’m not going to lie. Those first couple of days were rough! But by Day 10 I’d learned a lot and was really starting to get into a groove. I can’t promise I’m going to be hardcore Whole30 for LIFE but it’s definitely changed the way I view food overall and I’ve seen some significant changes in how I look and most importantly, how I feel!

I think once you get past those first couple of days, the hardest part is preparation. I mean, if you’re home all day and you have time to grocery shop and actually cook every day, staying on program is probably pretty easy. But I don’t know anyone like that. Everyone I know is constantly on the go, including me, and it’s easy to fall off program when you can’t grab and go.

Snacking isn’t really recommended on Whole30, but life happens and the quickest way to fall off the program is not being prepared. I try to keep several snacks “ready to go” so I’m never caught off guard and I thought I’d share them with y’all!

Top 5 Whole30 Snacks

1. Cassie Green Seeds

These are my ultimate favorite. Easy to make and super yummy!

Coconut Amino Roasted Seeds

Toss ½ cup sunflower seeds and ½ cup pumpkin seeds with 1 Tbsp of coconut aminos, 1 tsp of olive oil, a pinch of sea salt and some garlic powder. Spread on a lined baking sheet and bake at 325 degrees for 10 mins. Take them out and stir and then stick them back in the oven for another 5 minutes. Store in pantry.

2. Celery and Almond Butter

Keep pre-cut stalks of celery in your fridge and almond butter in your pantry and you’re good to go. On your way out of the house, you can grab 2 stalks celery, smear them with 1 Tbsp of almond butter and be on your way!

3. Apples and Sunflower Butter

Same concept as the celery. Cut an apple in half, add some sunflower butter and you’re done. I try not to have more than 1 serving of fruit daily but I like apples because they’re filling and you don’t have to worry about them going bad a day or 2 after you buy them!

4. Hard Boiled Eggs and Avocado

Keeping hard boiled eggs in your refrigerator (are you sensing a theme here?) makes life easy. You can make it super easy by buying them already hard boiled and peeled … Literally grab and go! Add a ¼ or ½ an avocado and sprinkle some Trader Joe’s Everything but the Bagel seasoning and you’ve got a complete snack in just a few minutes.

5. Epic Bars

Processed foods aren’t the best choice for Whole30 because the point of Whole30 is to eat whole foods. But sometimes you have limited options and you have to the best you can! Epic Bars are great because they’re minimally processed and generally no-to-low sugar. Some of the flavors contain a little sugar so be sure to check the label. I highly recommend the Chicken Sriracha – it’s my fave! ​

I haven’t decided what my Whole30 plan will be past the initial 30 days, but I do know I’ll continue to keep these snacks in my kitchen. They’re easy, healthy and tasty, and filling up on junk food is definitely NOT on my to-do list! If you’re doing the Whole30 thing with me and have any snacks you love, leave them in the comments.
