Fall In Dallas - Things To Do

It’s October!! And you know what that means! It’s no longer a thousand degrees outside and you can go outside without feeling like you’re on fire! One of the things I love most about Dallas is that there’s always something to do and it’s even better in October because the weather is great. So if you’re ready to enjoy this weather and looking for a few things to do, I’m sharing a few of my favorite ways to enjoy Dallas in the fall!

fall in dallas - a to do list

Autumn at the Arboretum

Pumpkins are everywhere and the fall flowers are in bloom … the Dallas Arboretum is already amazing and Autumn at the Arboretum is even better because there are tons of events, all month long. There’s a cool pumpkin village and a hale bay maze … wear something cute because you’ll want to take lots of pics. And if you have kids, they have face painting and petting zoos. And if you don’t have kids, borrow some! Because this is one of those places where watching the kids have fun makes it even more fun for you!

State Fair of Texas

October in Dallas can only mean one thing … The State Fair! From football and concerts to the car show and the livestock exhibitions … there is SO much to do at the fair and there’s something for everyone. You could spend all day watching the product demonstrations in the Expo Hall or blowing all your money on the Midway. And of course the food! So much food! Even if you’re not brave enough to try the Bacon Wrapped Tot Dog or the Doritos Bacon Mozzarella Cheese Stick, you can always go traditional with a corny dog and funnel cake! And don’t miss the Taylor Swift Experience. Even if you’re not a hardcore fan, it’ll still be cool to see some of her memorabilia!

Tacos aren’t just for Tuesday! On October 15, Tacolandia hits Dallas. It’s a HUGE taco festival at Dallas City Hall Plaza hosted by the Dallas Observer and it’s going to be awesome. There will be tacos of all kinds and $25 admission gets you unlimited taco samples from all the vendors. Plus there will be live music and drinks and because it’s October, the weather should be great! Check out the Tacolandia website for more info!

Burgers and Burgundy for DIFFA

I am SO excited about this event. DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) is one of the largest fundraising organization that raises funds for organizations that help fight against HIV/AIDS. It’s a cause I’m really passionate about and I can’t wait to attend the Burgers and Burgundy event. John Tesar, from “Top Chef” and his team of celebrity chefs will be making signature sliders paired with wine, and it’s outside on the Ron Kirk Bridge! How cool is that? There will be live music and live art performances and they’re announcing the 2017 Style Council Ambassadors! It’s going to be a great event and I can’t wait!

Now that you know where I’ll be this fall, tell me what you’re up to! Any must-dos I missed?
