Things I'm Currently Obsessed With

Caroline’s Current Obsessions

Oprah has her “Favorite Things” but my favorites are more like obsessions. Things I just can’t get enough of. Obviously I can’t be obsessed with all the things so as I fall in love with new stuff, I’ll be sure to let you know!

Renee Rouleau skin care products

For daily skin care, I use Renee Rouleau’s Purifying Face Wash and the Hawaiian Nourishing Cream.  But my spa splurge is the Triple Berry Smoothing Peel followed by the Bio Clam Repair Masque (Tip: Pop the jar in the fridge a couple of hours before you use it for a super luxurious spa experience!). I love this stuff because it keeps my face looking “flawless”. (I didn’t wake up like this!)

Mac Lipliner in Whirl

When I want to recreate a certain look, it literally consumes me. I get it from my mom. She won’t rest until she finds the exact color or look that she sees in a magazine. I’m pretty sure we spent the duration of 2012 discussing the perfect “wine colored nail polish”. Anyway, Whirl is the color Kylie Jenner uses and it’s perfect for a day-to-day color. I wear it almost daily.

La Croix sparkling water

Drinking more water is one of my main New Year’s resolutions. My doctor recommends drinking half your body weight in ounces but I was having a little trouble hitting that goal. And then I discovered La Croix sparkling water. It has 0 calories, 0 sugar, 0 carbs, 0 everything, pretty much … except flavor!

I keep them stocked at home and at work and while I don’t suggest this being 100% of your water intake, it’s a great supplement if you’re having a hard time getting your ounces in. I love the coconut, apricot and the berry but my ABSOLUTE favorite is the Cherry Lime. It’s also really hard to find, so I stock up when I find it. Last time, I might have brought home 5 cases … oops.

ALSO, it’s a great mixer for a “skinny cocktail”. Just add a little Tito’s (another favorite) and a little slice of lime to any flavor. Yummy and low cal!

Turkey Pepperoni “Chips”

I’ve been obsessed with this snack for years and I think it’s a bit of a secret. Turkey pepperoni “chips”. Okay, it sounds so weird but y’all have to try it. I try to stay low-carb so these are a great snack because they’re high protein and fill you up. Plus, they’re super easy to make! Just throw some turkey pepperoni on a plate (with a paper towel underneath to soak up the grease) and pop them in the microwave for 45 seconds. They come out crunchy and they satisfy my mid-day salt craving!

Maren Morris

I’m OBSESSED and have a full-blown girl crush on Maren Morris. She is from the DFW area and I’ve followed her career since high school. She made the move to Nashville a few years ago and has written with Kacey Musgraves and has songs on Kelly Clarkson and Tim McGraw’s albums. I saw her perform with Kree Harrison in Nashville and she is such a dynamic performer with a total cool girl vibe. She’s just starting to get big; her music is all over Sirius Radio and she was just featured in Rolling Stone for “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know.” “80’s Mercedes” and “I Wish I Was” are my favorites. I’m calling it right now, she’s going to be huge. I’d compare her to a name you know but you can’t. She’s just Maren.

Born This Way

“Born This Way” is a TV Show on A&E about 7 young adults with Down syndrome, living in Los Angeles. The daughter of my mom’s bestie has Down syndrome and she is such a phenomenal young woman. So, I have a special place in my heart for people with Down syndrome! So much, we took our first two children with Down syndrome on the Kidd’s Kids trip this year!

The first season is only six episodes so you can binge watch it in one day. And you’ll be addicted because the cast is so wonderful, genuine and loving!
