For the last few months you’ve probably heard me talk about my partnership with Five Star Subaru. Usually when I talk about Five Star, it’s in reference to Kidd’s Kids but what they do for the community goes beyond Kidd’s Kids.
One of the reasons I wanted to partner with Subaru was because of the Subaru Love Promise. They don’t just “give back”, they promise to do right by the community and are committed to making the world a better place for us to live.
During the month of June, Five Star Subaru partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) to offer hope and warmth to cancer patients. Employees visited cancer patients in the hospital, delivered blankets to keep them warm during treatment and handed out arts and craft kits to the kids.. But it didn’t stop there. Throughout the month, Five Star invited their customers to write a message of hope to share with patients in local hospitals.
Having visited some of our Kidd’s Kids in the hospital, I’ve seen firsthand what a note or letter of encouragement can do for someone’s spirit. When you spend one or two days in the hospital everyone comes to see you, but when you’re there for weeks at a time or over and over again, visitors tend to drop off. These messages reminded patients that they haven’t been forgotten
