Reviewing The Rustic

Growing up, there were a few restaurants where my parents and I were regulars. Places we went for celebrations and places we ate on a regular basis. I loved it because everyone knows you and it feels like home. I always knew that I wanted a go-to place like that when I grew up. And I’ve found it. Maybe you’ve heard me mention it before? The Rustic.

The Rustic is one of my favorite Dallas restaurants for several reasons. First, the food is fantastic! Almost all of the food is locally sourced and everything is made from scratch. SO much yum! They have a delicious Texas Goat Cheese that’s drizzled with garlic oil and the Double Queso (pimento cheese dip paired with chipotle garlic queso) is divine! Try the Spinach Salad if you’re going light. This isn’t lettuce, tomato and croutons. Try fresh spinach with green apples, coita cheese and golden raisins with a lemon dressing. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it! Another fave is the Lean Roast Beef. It’s served cold with horseradish and smoked cheddar cheese. Those are some of my faves but you can’t go wrong. Everything on the menu is delish!

And don’t forget the drinks! Fantastic cocktails made with Texas vodka and Texas Whiskey! For the summer, the Sangarita is perfect! A margarita made with raspberry schnapps and a an adult sangria ice pop. But you also have to try my personal fave, the Wild West 75. How do you not love Deep Eddy Grapefruit Vodka, lemon juice, and champagne? And if you’re a beer drinker, you’ll be in heaven. The Rustic has tons of Texas beer on draft including a variety of craft beers. So many choices!

Plus, it’s just a really cool place to hang out. There’s live music almost every night (which you know I love!) and the overall atmosphere is great. Y’all know I love a good patio and The Rustic has one of Dallas’ best. Named after country singer, Pat Green, Pat’s Backyard is the ultimate hangout. It has gorgeous trees with picnic tables and fire pits, just a cool space to lounge in.

So, the next time you’re having one of those “Where should we eat?” dilemmas, head to The Rustic. I promise you won’t be sorry! And if you see me hanging out, stop by and say hi!
