I Don't Wake Up Like This

I’m a skincare junkie. Some might say obsessed. I love to try new products – washes, masks, treatments … But there are some things I don’t experiment with. I wash my makeup off every night without fail. And I wash my makeup brushes religiously. That’s probably why I get so many compliments on my skin. But it doesn’t come easily. I work hard to maintain good skin. Which is why I tried Botox.

I know. Some of you are saying, “Why is she getting Botox? She’s too young for that!” But I’m really not. Lots of younger women are getting Botox now so I’m not alone. I started getting Botox a couple of years ago on the recommendation of my dermatologist. She explained that Botox isn’t just for erasing lines and wrinkles; it’s also preventative. When you get Botox in your late 20s/early 30s, it trains your facial muscles to relax, which can keep you from getting other lines and wrinkles. And I’m all about prevention!

Dr. Kaporis is the dermatologist I’ve been seeing at Cooper Clinic Dermatology. She is a complete perfectionist, which is great because I don’t have to worry about looking plastic or unnatural. She really wants you to look your absolute best, so she has all her clients come back a couple of weeks after their appointment for free touch ups. And personally, I feel an extra level of comfort knowing that a doctor who specializes in dermatology is doing my treatment.

Recently, I switched from Botox to Dysport. Honestly, there isn’t a huge difference between the two. They are basically the same with a few molecular differences, which means they use different amounts. Which one you choose is really between you and your dermatologist. It’s like choosing between Coke and Pepsi, and everyone has their preference. I prefer Dysport because it’s a little cheaper and sets in quicker. And for me, I think Dysport lasts a little longer.

If you’re interested in Botox/Dysport or any other dermatology services, definitely check out Cooper for a consultation. You won’t be disappointed!

Caroline
