Gaga, Coachella and Unicorns - Obsessions

This week I have obsessions and an obsession-ish. Because I don’t think I’m going to be obsessed with that one too much longer!

“The Cure” – by Lady Gaga

“The Cure” is the newest song from Lady Gaga and I am loving it! Some of Gaga’s fans will disagree because it’s such a big departure from her last album, “Joanne”, but I love it. Gaga debuted the song last week at Coachella and since the movie is using footage from Coachella in the remake of “A Star is Born” with Bradley Cooper, there’s a good chance the song will be in the movie. And quick side note, “A Star is Born” was supposed to have Beyonce as the lead and Clint Eastwood directing. But when Clint Eastwood backed out, so did Beyonce! So, Gaga replaced Beyonce in the movie and at Coachella!

Coachella

And speaking of Coachella …
I really want to go to Coachella … until I remember that it’s totally not my jam and that I will never go. But, 2 of my girlfriends are going and I’m going to live vicariously through them, instead! Because even though, I definitely don’t want to be there, I think the trends are so interesting!

This year, flower crowns are out but dad hats aka baseball caps are in. Caps may be a 90s throwback, but now you can put your hair in a pony and throw on a cap, and still be totally on trend! And put away your chokers because chokers are out and bandanas are in. Around your neck or in your hair, everyone’s wearing them! And just in time for summer, the pigtail bun is back. Think Gwen Stefani and Baby Spice!

Coffee with Topo Chico

I’m pretending that I created this drink because it’s a spinoff of one of my faves. My standard Starbucks is an Americano, which is 2 shots of espresso mixed with water. When I don’t hit Starbucks, I start my morning with Chameleon Cold Brew. It’s concentrated and you’re supposed to dilute it with water, but I dilute it with Topo Chico instead. And then I have a fizzy coffee! The perfect morning drink for summer!

”Skinnytaste Fast and Slow” – Gina Homolka

skinny taste fast and slow

As y’all know, I’m still working on my lifestyle change and part of that is eating better. Y’all also know how I LOVE a slow cooker; well, now I can combine the two! Gina Homolka runs a website called Skinnytaste.com and has cookbooks with the same name. Her newest cookbook, ”Skinnytaste Fast and Slow”, is perfect because the recipes are made either for the slow cooker or for the stove, in less than 30 minutes! Either way, they’re all yummy. Last night I made the Lasagna Soup and it is LIT! I can’t wait to try everything in the cookbook!

Unicorn everything

I’m adding the unicorn trend reluctantly because a month ago everything unicorn was cool. My birthday is next week and I totally planned on a unicorn theme, complete with decorations and favors. But now I feel like everything Unicorn is basic. I mean, is Unicorn the new Pumpkin Spice? I don’t know. But now there’s a Unicorn frap at Starbucks, unicorn cupcakes, unicorn bagels, unicorn hot chocolate … even unicorn SNOT (which is really glitter gel, but whatever). I think maybe we’ve gone too far!

And as always, I’m obsessed with Kidd’s Kids! We’re getting ready for the new Teen Trip and just remember, you can make a donation anytime at KiddsKids.com!

Caroline
