First Week in Nashville? CHECK!

First week in Nashville? CHECK!

My first week in Nashville has been crazy busy … but crazy in a good way.

The first thing on my to-do was list was shopping! Since I still have my apartment in Dallas, I didn’t move any furniture and I only brought the essentials. And even that had to be limited to what could fit in my car. I also didn’t have the time or the energy to run all over town searching for the “perfect” pieces for my new place, so I started at 2 of my favorite go-tos for home stuff … Target and HomeGoods. Best decision ever, because I found everything I needed and I love all of it!

As cliché as it sounds, pink really is my favorite color, but since Nashville is kind of a new start, I thought I’d go in a different direction and avoid pink. Obviously, it wasn’t in the cards. But with my Target and HomeGoods finds and a few personal touches from home, my new place is really starting to feel like me. Including the pink!

Sunday Dinner? Check.

Sunday dinner is one of my “things”. I love wrapping up the weekend with a house full of friends, sharing a great meal. So of course, for my first Sunday in Nashville, I had to have Sunday dinner. It was a great evening filled with lots of laughs and I might as well call these guys Garfield for the way they ate my lasagna. First Sunday Dinner in Nashville? Check.

Dreams Coming True? Check!

Once I finished the fun stuff (shopping and decorating), I spent most of the week unpacking and getting settled. I’ve also been making some music connections and things are coming together in the best way which I’m SO thankful for!

Ryan Cabrera flew into town Wednesday night so we could do some writing, but before we got to work, we got to play a little. We went for sushi at Sunda (the absolute BEST sushi in Nashville) and a little karaoke at Santa’s Pub. If you saw my Instagram stories, you saw the comedy that was, firsthand. I’m so grateful to have Ryan by my side during this journey and so happy that we work together as well as we play together!

Yesterday Ryan and I spent the day writing and recording with Chris August and John Vesely (from Secondhand Serenade) in Zac Brown’s studio “Southern Ground”. Yes, THAT Zac Brown and no, I can’t freaking believe this is my life!

Giggin’ in New Orleans? Check!

Today, I’m headed to New Orleans! This weekend is the NOLA Kidd’s Kids Golf Tournament, we have a Kidd’s Kids Glam event planned and tonight, my very first gig in New Orleans! I am SO excited. I’ll be at the Apres Lounge on Fulton Street so if you’re in the New Orleans area, come see me! I go on at 7:30p.

A few of my friends will be in New Orleans as well and we’re going to Commander’s Palace and doing all the fun “New Orleans” things, but I’ll update you on all that next week.

xo,
Caroline
