It's A Cabo New Year

The Resort at Pedregal

When your birthday falls on New Year’s Eve, it can be tough. When your mom’s birthday falls on New Year’s Eve … well, let’s just say I’ve had to make a few decisions when it comes to New Year’s Eve plans!

The last few years I’ve spent New Year’s Eve with friends, so this year I decided to spend it with my mom. It’s been a while since we took a mommy/daughter trip and I decided her birthday was the perfect occasion.

Going away was a last-minute decision, which meant there wasn’t a lot of time for planning. Apparently, Cabo is a hot spot for New Year’s Eve and our options were limited, so we decided to try something new. The Resort at Pedregal!

There are times when you look at a resort online and when you arrive, it doesn’t quite live up to your expectations. Not this time! It was 5 star the whole way!

Cabo is one of my go-tos for a quick getaway with friends or a bachelorette party, but I wouldn’t choose the Pedregal for either of those. This is a place you want to come for your honeymoon or anniversary. It’s a luxury resort so probably not the best if you’re working with a budget and it’s perfect for relaxing, not partying!

We only left the resort once and that was to go to The Office. It’s my fave and I have to go at least once when I’m in Cabo. I’ve heard that Flora Farms is a must see also but since it was about an hour from our resort, we opted out this time. But I def want to go back next time we are in Cabo.

Even though Christmas had already passed, it was still technically the Christmas season and the Pedregal still had all the decorations up. Throughout the resort there were “Torotes” (aka Christmas trees) decorated with Mexican handcrafts. They were so pretty and just made everything feel so festive!

It was a resting vacay, so we spent most of our time just lounging around. The views were amazing, the spa was divine and of course, the food! I didn’t go crazy but I definitely had to get back on track once I got home!

Spending some quality time with my mom was just what I needed to close out 2017 and now I’m ready to hit the ground running for 2018!

Caroline
