5 Cool Things To Do In Dallas

1.Path to the Presidency, All month long

See it Here

Regardless of your political affiliation, you’ll want to check out this new exhibit at the George W. Bush Library and Museum. It’s an interactive exhibit and a lot of fun! You can pretend you’re running for office and develop your own platform, create your own campaign poster (complete with a slogan!) and deliver your acceptance speech from a teleprompter. It’s harder than it looks!. You can even practice your handshake at the “grip-o-meter”. And don’t forget to take your picture in the Oval Office replica. You know, for posterity, in case you lose! 😉

2. Dallas Museum of Art Late Night, August 19

The DMA Late Night always has the coolest events and August is no different. The 3rd Friday of every month, the Dallas Museum of Art holds an after hours event open to the public. This month they’re doing it Olympic style with tours and films related to sports and art. Plus there’ll be live music and a DMAzing Race contest. Probably my only chance at a gold medal!

3. Summer Sangria Wine Walk in Bishop Arts District, August 11

Bishop Arts is one of the coolest areas in Dallas. Mix the cute shops with a little summer sangria and you’ve got a perfect summer evening! Purchase your tickets online and when you arrive, pick up a mini mason jar glass or a brandy snifter and then sample sangria as you visit the shops and restaurants. The wine walk starts at 6pm, so you can head over right after work!

4. Pokewalk Dallas, August 27

Remember when I was in New Orleans and my boss spent the night playing Pokemon Go? And remember how annoyed I was? So, that’s what I think about that! BUT … If Pokemon is your thing, you’ll want to be at Klyde Warren Park for the biggest Pokemon event in the Metroplex. And if you’re not into the Pokemon craze, you can still go and laugh when people inevitably run into each other because they’re staring at their phones!

5. North Texas Fair and Rodeo, August 19-27

Need a reason to bust those cowboy boots out of your closet? The North Texas Fair and Rodeo is the perfect excuse! There’s a carnival and a midway and tons of food! It’s like a warm up for the State Fair of Texas! Plus there will be some really great country music including the Josh Abbott Band, Casey Donahew Band and Zane Williams. And they’re even going old school with the Charlie Daniels Band! So grab your girlfriends, get to Denton and maybe you’ll find a hot cowboy!
